we’re back!

No, we haven’t moved to another country. After what seems like forever, we are finally ready to debut a sneak peak of the new J|Andra! We are re-branding ourselves, re-inventing, and basically taking it to a whole new level! Here are some changes:

Our focus is “couture, urban, and fresh” and we feel this completely describes what we deliver. 

Instead of 1 site, there are now 2! The old site will re-debut this week as well, but this will be a lifestyle photography site with an emphasis on senior girls as the focus. Besides doing dramatic high-impact couple time at weddings and engagement sessions, senior girls with a fashion-shoot urban and funky feel is our other forte. 

Our new wedding site has given a greater focus on the photographs themselves, rather than clutter from the site itself. It has a very minimalist feel, which we adore! We also have a few new features! You will be able to view our schedule, testimonials or “love letters”, we will have a featured gallery for our favorite weddings, a shopping cart on our proofing section, and a “send this to a friend” option when you contact us.

Once we get all puzzled together we promise to be back to real life! But for now, you can browse the new site and keep up with the work we are putting ever so faithfully into it! Click here for a preview!

the “scandalous booth”

Finally! By “tomorrow” I actually *cough cough* meant today. Leave it to me to totally forget the fact that “tomorrow” is Thanksgiving! Oh well. 

Anyway, we had such a hilarious time doing this at Rachel and Eric’s wedding. There was definitely not a shortage of entertainment. Have a looksee!

 

 

eric+rachel tie the knot

Eric and Rachel held a two day (10.10/10.11) intimate affair to celebrate their marriage. Although we did not shoot their actual nuptials, the couple held a dinner at a private residence in Fishers, and the next day the festivities followed at the Red Room, which Eric and his parents own. I love their approach to their wedding. It was so much a celebration of their marriage rather than just a notion to all the things we think we must do according to tradition (in reference to an earlier post!) One of the funniest memories I had was of Rachel rolling her eyes because she was getting ready to cut their cake. I thought it was pretty hilarious. She was a good sport though. ( : Rachel and Eric are all around awesomely-awesome people.

Also, wow-they had some HILARIOUS guests at their reception…either that or they were encouraged because of the full open bar. Who knows, but it went exceeeeeedingly well. 

Rachel and Eric-thank you for letting us in on such a cool wedding/reception and thank you for being such a faithful blogstalkers! On with the photos!!!!

Oh, and the reason I’m hoarding all of the fantabulous engagement sessions and such is because it will reveal December 15th my branspankin’new site… 

But, this one was hilarious to us all so I can’t hide it. This was taken in Chicago with the absolutely amazing Jeff+Janelle. Could it have been more perfect???? The first is Kyle’s view, the 2nd is mine.

elizabeth+erik married!!!

Yeah, yeah…so sue me! I’ve been around the world it feels like! Now that we’re back in the rhythm of things we’re gonna be back to blog life ( :

I was incredibly excited to shoot this wedding because I really enjoy being around Liz and Erik and all of their friends and family. Seriously!!! Everyone was so inviting and fun. (especially the bridesmaids…they hold a special place in my heart).

Every time we shoot a wedding and then I go to blog, I am overwhelmed with decisions on what are my personal favorites and this wedding was absolutely no different. Even worse! I wish I just had the time to just make a slideshow of ALL of them for you to view! But, so far here are my top top top favorites. Liz and Erik also made it so easy to do my best, strongest and favorite part of all weddings: couple time! I think that it is absolutely vital that each couple take time out WITHOUT ANYONE ELSE but them and our lenses to have some calm and sweet moments together. No bridemaids/groomsmen/children/family around. Just time to be your selves, enjoy yourselves and get some smokin’ hot shots taken! 

Liz actually picked the spot that she wanted her and Erik’s couple photos, and I am usually hesitant to pick a spot that is well known or overproduced, but the Lily grounds are exceptional and I think we really had fun with it. Nice job guys!!!  Alright over with the blah, blah, blah! I’m sure they are scrolling right over this and just want to see the photos! ( :

Ceremony-Meridian United Methodist. (breathtaking!)

Reception-The Stutz (vintage yet modern coolness)

Band-The Woomblies (rockin’ cool!)

Caterer-The Juniper Spoon. We really took heart to this company. They purchase organically and locally grown produce, which is good all around, creative and yummy!

Flowers by Tiffany, and a relative did their cakes and they were amazing!!! I want to know her name! Seriously rivaled some of the top cake vendors we’ve seen.

Again, thanks to Liz for being amazing. Thanks to Erik for being amazing. Erik, you are seriously one very, very cool man. Kyle and I would be bff’s with you both anyday.

Jessica’s Graduating!

Meet Jessica. She has such a super infectious sweet personality, and was so fun to shoot with all the laughs and jokes and just hanging out for the day. No more talk-just look at the photos!    

Since I wanted to wait and post the answer the questions from trish and zac’s e-session after at least a couple days, I’ll answer it now:

Zac has this thing about always being left of Trish. Yep, that’s all it is. I have absolutely no idea why. Maybe he really likes one side of himself better or maybe there is some symbolism there, but either way it was hilarious and interesting. Though, I do think we capture just a few with him to the right of her. Ooops! Gotcha!  (And to answer one guess, no we did not use actions on all of them, sorry!) 

 

And finally to add: we are going to be out of the office from Wednesday, October 22nd until Monday, October 27th for a wedding in Las Vegas. Be jealous! And always, thanks for reading, browsing and blog-stalking. I love you all for it! -A

lisa+eric

Lisa and Eric are one of the sweetest and most lovely couples we’ve had to date. We just loved everything about how their wedding flowed. They chose to see each other beforehand which made everything so much less stressful for a day that was sure to have enough by itself. Lisa is such a beautiful person. She’s just so cool and calm about everything, although I thought it was so sweet when she started to get nervous right before they saw each other. Eric is just cool with…well, everything! I loved to watch him laugh and smile around everyone he loved. How about you guys give me more reasons to be around you??!! Thanks to you both for being you. (wait for this one to load…I changed it up a little-more my style) 

 

trish and zac love each other…

…and we LOOOOOOOVE them! I mean seriously. I have it bad for this couple. Trish is so decadently lovely in all ways, and Zac is ah-mazing! Oh, and they are crazy over each other. These are definitely going on the new site in November! It is so easy when you have two people who are so in love, have such great chemistry, and again (I know I say this all the time) but are just so good at being with each other! On with it!  oh, p.s. can you guess what is the same about all of these photos? (with the exception of one grouping…?) the answer will come in the next post, but comment and see if you can guess.

Absolutely awesome couple. Bride-i-licious awesome Christina who I owe many thanks. My other photographer friends have client envy! Christina always manages to tell someone about us, posts information about us, sends our info to other brides, brags about us, and even sent ME a thank-you card. See, told you-client envy! THANK YOU! As our company is almost purely a service rather than a product our best compliment from anyone is a referral. ( :
