Somehow in the midst of changing our branding, designing our new wedding website (and forging ahead to someday finish the portrait site), finishing the last touches of some weddings, redoing our office, being so ever graciously asked  and humbly accepting to be a part of Leslie Jones (fabulous wedding planner!!!) and Here Come the BRIDE, I have forgotten about some amazing engagement sessions! So, yes-there will be a third post in one week, and THIS is it! ( :
Katie+Cole stole my heart from the very beginning. They actually booked us for their wedding this September in Bloomington BEFORE they were engaged. They loved us and we looooved them! Do not fret-we did the engagement session when they were legit-ring and all! Cole and Katie just kinda let me do whatever and we ended up with an explosion of funky-sexylicious-goodness (and some love-y-ness as well). Lovesit!

2 posts within days of each other??? That’s just how I roll.

Chelsea and David = AAAWWWEESSSOOOMMMEEENNEESS. (Do I sound like a surfer when I say that? …as if you can actually hear me.)

Anyway, they both look like models with their stupid flawless skin and cheekbones that must have been a mistake. I ordered them first. They are up for whatever (even hanging out with the dumpsters. Again, -that’s how I roll.) , and they have THE BEST engagement story. I thought ours was truly the best, but maaaybe they gave us a run for it, or maybe we’ll just call it a tie and I won’t be mad at you. I’m not quite certain yet. If I had enough patience I might write the story out for all of you, although I’ll probably just save that for the wedding post.

These two are getting married in Geist at a private residence which I am entirely too excited about (especially at 12:30 am). They are so in love and it shows.

So how about I stop rambling on after a 2 hr workout at past midnight and show you the photos already?!

How is it that we manage to have fun ALL THE TIME when we go on engagement sessions??? I am ever so lucky.

Meet Jennifer and Michael. Michael is in the service and they are trying to plan their wedding at the same time-a task I truly admire.  Jennifer explained to me that it is increasingly difficult to set a date, send invitations, etc. when you’re not certain where you’ll be or when you’ll have the time for it! I can only imagine!!! I send the best of luck and I’m sure you guys can pull it off!

Anyway, I really had a fantastic time with them both. We found new fun locations,  froze a little, and Jennifer almost got a concussion from Michael’s leg three inches from her head., You know-the norm.  (BUT HE KILLED IT!) Enjoy!

p.s. All my Twitter folk make fun of me for it, but does anyone know where there are some really fun hiphop dance classes near or in Indianapolis? Britney Spears IS a good workout, seriously! David says I should debut my new ’skilz at one of our couples’ receptions. Just kidding.

The nearly sole reason we enjoy our career path is due to the fantastic people we encounter. Maybe the single best example I can give you is right here. When Trish contacted me for their wedding earlier in the year (‘08) I could not meet her because she was living in Phoenix.  I usually am very hesitant to book anyone I cannot meet in person first so I was glad to hear that we were able to shoot their engagement. From the moment we met it was MY love at first sight! I dare you to laugh at my corniness. I will continue to beat it in the ground dead-horse-style, but I cannot tell couples enough how important it is that you are in tune with your vendors. Especially the ones who are in your face the entire day. Photographers and videographer for example. The reason I feel that this wedding was so successful is that I felt truly as if they were being themselves and were okay with some of the crazy things and locations we brought to them and had them incorporate. Photographers and videographers alike are NOT miracle workers. Truth be told, you are not going to getting stunning images (in my opinion) if you are only willing to stand at the altar and give good face. In working with us, you have to embrace and have fun with the nut-ball things we want you to do.

You see a dumpster in an alley. We see potential sexy, urban, and dramatic. You see a gritty concrete wall…no? Well then look below in the post!

Now, I would never ask you to actually get dirty (unless you didn’t mind), but my point is that you should be comfortable and LIKE whomever you pick to capture your day. And don’t be scared to be yourself, have fun and be different! For example: Playing football. Awesome? Yes. Playing football in expensive suits? Awesome and HOT.

It goes without saying that we feel as if you guys are our friends, not just our clients. We adore how sincere, intelligent, witty, willing, sweet, and hilarious you both are. During your ceremony I almost forgot to keep shooting because I was so intent on listening and so touched by your letters to each other during your vows. Thank you for that. Your wedding party? Out of this world cool. Zac-I love your guys. They made our job SOOOO easy and fun. Ladies-you are all so BEAUTIFUL!  And you guys managed to WORK IT! Please make beautiful babies or make up a reason so we have to shoot you guys again. Either that or we’ll take you up on our house swap deal. 

We can’t thank you enough.

Back to civilization! Hooray! I have never been so thankful to see graffiti in my whole life. We celebrated Christmas at Kyle’s family’s hometown and though the countryside IS beautiful and the southern hospitality is welcomed, I just literally craved to see a parking ticket, a building more than 3 stories tall…and hell, maybe just even some public urination. Only kidding. Halfway. I really don’t know what it is about the hustle, crowds, noise and commotion I love, but let’s just put it that I am a true city girl. This week I got one of the best compliments ever shamelessly on Facebook. It read:

Though the title has nothing to do with anything-just stating the obvious, I’m finishing up the last touches of some current projects and the new site(s). Kyle snapped up this of me last night, and I just thought I’d share with you all what I look like working everyday. Sitting and glued to the computer. Although, in this I’m working on Kyle’s Mac (mine’s bigger! -the 24″ haha!). Not that this is entertaining, but I just felt like sharing!
